Overview: One Belt One Road Research Institute of Hong Kong Chu Hai College is now inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant (Part-time) for the project on “Belt and Road Studies”. Project Title: Building Envelope Environmental Performance Optimization Teaching Platform
Responsibilities: (1) Develop learning resources and a user-friendly interface for teaching platform;
(2) Conduct hands-on workshops on how to use the teaching platform – for Chu Hai students / teacher and for other self-financed institutions / secondary schools;
(3) Conduct user survey and improve the platform accordingly;
(4) Coordinate with other team members and help develop progress reports;
(5) Publish the outcomes of the project and progress reports and on the College website for publicity.
Requirements: Master of Architecture graduate with experience on using environmental software, theoretical knowledge and graphic design skills will be suitable for developing a user-friendly teaching platform.

Project Title: Photovoltaic Panel Model Parameters Estimation and Monitoring by Using Artificial Neural Network
Responsibilities: (1) Responsible for the hardware and software systems development for the “Photovoltaic Panel Model Parameters Estimation and Monitoring by Using Artificial Neural Network”;
(2) Responsible to conduct hardware experiment, embedded system implementation; data training of Artificial Neural Network; procurement of equipment, system testing and evaluation;
(3) Provide technical support to the project, taking up project administration and carry out other research-related duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Requirements: (1) A bachelor degree or above in Electronic/ Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline;
(2) At least 1 year related working experience with (i) software/ hardware development for embedded system OR (ii) software development for artificial neural network training;
(3) Good command of written and spoken of Chinese and English;
(4) Willing to learn, self-motivated and independent.

Project Title: Automatic multiple level gum disease detection based on deep neural network: algorithm and system
The appointee is expected to: (1) Design and write robust, readable, reproducible and reusable code components which can apply to implement state-of-the-art research outcomes in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision and etc;
(2) Perform data collection, cleansing and processing for analysis of real-world datasets;
(3) Develop mobile applications related to the project
(4) Assists with the editing and preparation of manuscripts, reports and presentations;
(5) Participate in presentations and demos for exhibiting work at appropriate events; and
(6) And other activities related to the research project.
Applicants should have: (1) Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related disciplines with a focus in AI/Machine Learning/Big Data/Computer vision/Point cloud processing;
(2) Solid programming and application development skills with experience in Python. Mastery of programming languages such as C/C++/Java, Tensorflow and Android studio;
(3) Ability to read and understand methodologies in research papers (good publication record is a plus);
(4) Fluent in English, (Cantonese, Mandarin is a plus) and good team-player.

Project Title: Development of real-time cooperative VR multi-CAVE systems for collaborative and team learning
The appointee is expected to: The appointee will assist in conducting virtual reality development projects, developing interactive simulation content, organizing research activities and supporting virtual reality training programmes. He/She will mainly be responsible for project planning, content development, data collection and analysis, report writing and presentation support, user acceptance testing, and project coordination and communication
Applicants should have: (1) a recognized degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in computing, computer science, engineering, art and heritage or a related discipline;
(2) a good understanding on virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, CAVE and 5G;
