Established in 1947, Hong Kong Chu Hai College has a distinguished history of 78 years of academic excellence and contributions to societal talent development. As we approach a pivotal moment in our journey towards achieving university status, we are embarking on the most ambitious chapter in our history, poised for a significant transformation and new heights of excellence.

To support this transformative journey, we are launching a comprehensive recruitment campaign for open-rank academic positions across our three core Faculties and one Institute. We are seeking individuals capable of establishing and leading dynamic research programs that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and elevate our institution’s academic standing.

Qualifications and Requirements

l   A doctoral degree in a relevant field.

l   A proven record of, or demonstrable potential for, excellence in learning & teaching and research appropriate to the academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor).

l   A strong commitment to academic leadership, curriculum and program development, and active participation in institutional service.

l   The successful candidate with relevant experience may be considered for a concurrent appointment as Department Head or senior academic management position, reflecting leadership capabilities and a commitment to advancing the strategic goals of the institution.

l   Fresh PhD graduate is welcome.

Ng Teng Fong․ Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute

Ng Teng Fong Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute (NSBRRI)

 

We are seeking an exceptional academic and administrative leader to serve as the Associate Professor/Professor of the NSBRRI, concurrently holding the position of Executive Director of the Institute. This dual-role position is ideal for a scholaradministrator who can spearhead the strategic and operational growth of the NSBRRI while contributing to its academic objectives. The Executive Director, along with the Institute Director, will work under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Vice President (Academic and Research) to promote the interests of the College. They will implement the Institute's vision in full alignment with the College's strategic development, fostering interdisciplinary research, enhancing teaching excellence, and expanding international collaboration networks in support of the College's overarching goals.

 

NSBRRI is a research institute with teaching functions for postgraduate degree programmes and plans to develop new degree programmes in the coming years. It is a specialised institute focusing both research and teaching exclusively on studies related to Belt and Road countries. It aims to become an internationally renowned organizations for academic, policy and industrial research. It has published series of monographs, a peer reviewed international journal, Hong Kong Review of Belt and Road Studies, and a new monthly newsletter on security and development in Central and South China and Middle East.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

* Serve as the Executive Director of the Institute, overseeing daily operations, budget management, resource allocation, and staff coordination.

* Work closely with the Associate Vice-President to support the College's overarching goals and implement strategic and academic plans.

* Conduct high-quality research and publish in leading journals and policy publications on topics pertinent to the NSBRRI.

* Develop undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum related to the Belt and Road Initiative and supervise student research projects.

* Actively seek and apply for external competitive research grants and funding opportunities.

* Provide support to the Institute Director in strategic planning, policy development, and the implementation of key initiatives.

 

Institute Responsibilities:

 

* Organise and promote Institute activities, including conferences, workshops, public lectures, and policy dialogues pertinent to Belt and Road countries.

* Responsible for and report to the Associate Vice-President (Academic and Research) via the Institute Director for operational, academic, and financial performance of the Institute.

 

Qualifications:

 

* Strong background of teaching, research and administrative experiences, preferably in Belt and Road countries.

* Outstanding connections in international, national and local academia, government and business circles.

* A PhD in a relevant discipline

* A strong record of academic research and publications commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

* Demonstrated experience in academic administration, program management, or leadership within higher education or related sectors.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
