
On 26 February 2026, The Student Affairs Office of Hong Kong Chu Hai College held the Chinese New Year Lion Dance Performance bringing together approximately 150 teachers, staff, and students at the College’s main entrance to welcome the new year with an energetic and festive celebration. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Jane Zhang, the President, Prof. Hon S. Chan, Vice President (Academic & Research), and Prof. Robert Li, Associate Vice President (Academic & Research), who joined in sharing the joy of the festival.
The celebration began with a traditional lion dance performance, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums and gongs. The lions leapt and danced with agility, delivering auspicious rituals such as “cai qing” and blessing the audience with good fortune and prosperity. The lion dance team also distributed small fortune gift bags to participants, further enhancing the lively and festive atmosphere. Tangerines, symbolising good luck and prosperity, and Chinese New Year spring couplets were dispatched to staff and students upon the end of the event as a blessing for the year ahead.
The Student Affairs Office of Hong Kong Chu Hai College will continue to provide more opportunities for staff and students to participate in traditional festive activities, fostering a harmonious, vibrant, and culturally enriched campus environment.
