Message from Dean
The Faculty of Science and Engineering consists of Department of Architecture, Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Computer Science. The programmes offered enable students to discover, preserve and disseminate the relevant professional knowledge in the three disciplines, offering them intellectual stimulation and preparing them to work competently in the industry. Collectively, four Bachelor Degree and two Master Degree programmes are offered, all fully accredited and recognized by The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and the Hong Kong Government.
The B.Sc (Hons) in Architecture and M.Arch programmes offered by the Department of Architecture are accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and Architects Registration Board (ARB) (both Part 1 and Part 2). These enable graduates to be eligible to take professional assessments to become Registered Architects. Local students admitted to B.Sc (Hons) in Architecture programme are eligible for tuition fee sponsor by the Hong Kong Government Education Bureau’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP) during their four years of study at the College.
The B.Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering and B.Eng (Hons) in Construction and Engineering Management programmes offered by Civil Engineering Department train competent Engineers-to-be to work confidently in engineering and construction projects. On the other hand, the M.Sc in Civil Eng (Infrastructure Construction and Engineering) equips students with postgraduate knowledge in design, management of projects in infrastructure development for career advancement.
The B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science offered by the Department of Computer Science provides students not only digital knowledge and practice, but also an integrated 6 months work-study programme during the 4-year study. The internship component integrating academic knowledge and industrial training enhances students’ professional skills, all-round competencies and work ethics to meet the needs of the community.
