
On 9 December 2025, Hong Kong Chu Hai College (HKCHC) and Sun Moon University (SMU) have formalised a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a Dual Degree Programme in Media and Communications, alongside expanded academic and student exchanges. The agreement was signed during a visit by a senior SMU delegation to HKCHC.
The SMU delegation was led by President Dr. MOON Seong-Jea, accompanied by Dr. CHOI Jae-Sung, Dean of International Affairs; Dr. JIN Cheng-Ji, Manager of International Relations for the Chinese Region; and Mr. KIM Tae-Woo, Chief Secretary. They were received by HKCHC’s senior leadership, including Prof. Hon CHAN, Vice President (Academic & Research), and Prof. Robert LI, Associate Vice President (Academic & Research).


Discussions included key faculty representatives: Prof. FUNG Kam Wing, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Dr. Tracy LEE, Associate Registrar and Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication (J&C); Dr. Roger LIN, Assistant Professor of the J&C Department; and the Director of Development, Mr. Xie Yilin, together with Dr. Frank SAUNDERS of the Communications and Public Relations Office - International Affairs Division. Following productive talks, the two parties officially executed the MOU.


The delegation later toured College’s Crossmedia Visual Production Studios and Arts Tech Research Centre, witnessing firsthand the college’s advanced facilities. The visit concluded with a celebratory dinner, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation.
This partnership underscores a mutual commitment to fostering academic innovation and equipping students with the expertise required for success in the evolving global media landscape.
