Key Responsibilities |
An academic leader responsible to ensure the effective operation and sustainable development of the Department. He/ she will be reporting direct to the Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering. His/ her key responsibilities are as follows: · Provide leadership in the development of the Department to align with the College’s Strategic Plan and benefit the community at large; · Ascertain the Department’s high-quality and innovation in teaching, research, scholarly activities and knowledge transfer; · Ensure the Department’s effective operation in terms of human, financial and other resources; · Undertake teaching at postgraduate and/ or undergraduate level; · Conduct and assist sub-ordinates to conduct researches that lead to publications in reputable journals and results in promoting advancement in the field; · Undertake such other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or the Management level of the College from time to time. |
Skills and Qualifications: |
· A Doctoral level in Civil Engineering and/ or a closely-related field; · Substantial experience in a relevant senior academic position, relevant professional qualifications are not a must but preferred; · Strong track record in knowledge, skills, research and scholarship in the area of Civil Engineering and/ or a closely-related field; · Good understanding of and experience in local, regional and international higher education environment; · Good interpersonal communication and effective resources management skills; · Good networks in both academic and professional bodies at local, regional and international levels. |

Key Responsibilities |
