Skill & Qualifications •  A PhD degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or relevant discipline (preferred area: Networking and cloud computing / Web technology / Web Security/ Artificial Intelligence)

•  A good leadership, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
•  Good networks in both academic and the profession at regional and international levels

Centre of Buddhist Studies

Assistant Professor

Key Responsibilities

 

(1) Undertake teaching at postgraduate Level
(2) Provide assistant in course / Programme / curriculum review and development
(3) Conduct relevant research, attend academic conferences, undertake scholarly project and activities publish papers and book etc
(4) Perform academic and administrative duties and attend meeting in relation to student and academic
(5) Perform other duties assigns by college and the center

 

Skill & Qualifications (1) A PhD degree in Buddhism or related disciplines
(2) Good experience in organizing related activities and academic event
(3) Excellent presentation and teaching skill, as demonstrated by higher education teaching experience or other relevant experience 
(4) Good publication record to show research capability and related research experience in Buddhis studies
(5) Strong communication and language skill in both English and Putonghua, familiar with Cantonese is preferred
(6) Good interpersonal and communication skill
(7) Good network in both academic and the profession at regional and international level

(2) University teaching and relevant research experience in South China History area; Preferable to teach the following subjects: An Introduction to Studies of South China / Cultural Heritage and Conservation / Historical Geography of South China / History of Ethnic Groups of South China / Folk Customs and Beliefs of South China;
(3) Keen and affable teacher, and a good publication record indication research capability;
(4) A good leadership, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills; and

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Teach subjects in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Building 
    Service Engineering or Construction Management
  • Assist in design, preparation and revision of syllabuses, teaching materials and assessments for 
    courses
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students to do projects
  • Provide leadership in research and programme/ curriculum development
  • Conduct research that leads to publications in rigorously refereed reputable journals
  • Organize and engage in scholarly activities
  • Perform academic and administrative duties
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Heads of Department
Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor degree and a PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant disciplines
    OR
    A Bachelor degree and recognized professional qualification such as Corporate Membership of HKIE (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Building or other relevant disciplines
  • Good knowledge of local higher educational environment
  • Good publications record indicating research capability
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Department of Journalism and Communication

Description

  • Teach courses for both BA and MA courses offered by the Department.
  • Design, prepare and revise course syllabuses, teaching materials, and assessments for 
    courses that must be updated regularly.
  • Assist in the management and validation of undergraduate and MA programmes
  • Undertake research, scholarly and administration activities.
  • Conduct research and prepare proposals to secure government funding for research 
    work, such as the RGC fund.
  • Prepare academic writing for publication.
  • Assist in curriculum development and exploring new MA programmes.
  • Assist the Department in preparing validation reports and proposals for PAA by 
    HKCAAVQ.
  • Provide advice to students.
Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. or a Master’s degree in a relevant academic discipline;
  • Distinguished professional credentials in Journalism and Communication.
  • Solid teaching experience at tertiary institutions.
  • Possess a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in 
    Putonghua will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
