B.Sc (Hons) in Architecture Year 4 students Ms CHAN Lok Wai, Alice, Mr DESIERTO Josaya Josh Quinones and Mr LO Ho Wan, Lawrence presented their design works ‘Cantopop Hub in West Kowloon Cultural District’ at the opening ceremony of the public exhibition ‘Dreams of Our Future Architects’ organized by the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD). The ceremony was officiated by Ir LAU Chun-kit, Ricky, JP, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), HKSAR Government, and Ar Li Kiu-yin, Michael, JP, Director of the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD).  

The event took place at H6 CONET, Central on 4 July 2026, in the presence of Dean Prof Paul CHU and Assistant Professor Dr Ken TOO of our college, together with educators of other local architecture schools. The students’ projects will be showcased to the public until 19 July 2026. 

As part of the celebration of the 40th Anniversary, the ArchSD has organized ‘Dreams of Our Future Architects’ to inspire the next generation of architects by strengthening connections between professional practice and architecture education in Hong Kong. The Department of Architecture was honoured to have ArchSD architects mentor our students through guided tours to ArchSD award-winning projects, providing first-hand insights into design excellence and real-world considerations. ArchSD also took part in design critics sessions, where thoughtful dialogue further deepened students’ understanding of contemporary architectural thinking and materialization. 

By bringing together student works from other local architecture schools and professional perspectives, the exhibition also marks a milestone commemoration of ArchSD’s 40-year journey, celebrating achievement, knowledge, and design innovation- reflected in the display of ArchSD-related works throughout the exhibition.  

The public exhibition is held at Area A, H6 CONET (G/F, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central, Central), from 4 July to 19 July 2026 (inclusive). Visitors are welcome to explore the students’ creativity and experience ArchSD’s 40-year legacy through architecture and urban design.
