On 25 June 2026, Prof. Liu Chang, a distinguished Associate Professor of the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University, was invited to visit our College to explore potential collaboration opportunities in teaching, research and exhibition. This visit was facilitated by the Department of Architecture.

During the campus tour, led by Prof. Paul Chu, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Prof. Liu was briefed on the College’s history, campus development, and institutional evolution. Accompanying them were Associate Professor Dr. Edwin Wu and Assistant Professor Dr. Maverick Hu from the Department.

In subsequent meetings, attended by Chair Professor David Lung as well, Prof. Liu shared insights into the significant teaching and research achievements of Tsinghua University’s School of Architecture, particularly in the fields of architectural history, theory, and heritage conservation. He also highlighted the contributions of the Society for Research in Chinese Architecture Memorial Hall in promoting the academic traditions of Chinese architecture.

Dean Chu presented the distinctive features of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, including its curriculum design and developmental vision of the Architecture Department. Valuable discussions ensued regarding potential collaborations in teaching, research, and exhibitions.

This visit represents a meaningful advancement in the collaborative relationship between Tsinghua University and Chu Hai College. It is anticipated that this potential partnership will foster joint efforts in the inheritance and development of Chinese architectural scholarship, as well as enhance exchange and cooperation between architectural education in Hong Kong and Beijing.
