Professor CHANG Chung-nan honoured as a President Emeritus and Distinguished Professor
Dear colleagues and students,
The College is delighted to announce that Professor CHANG Chung-nan, former President of the College, is honoured with the title of President Emeritus (榮休校長) and Distinguished Professor (傑出教授) in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the College, support of research activities, and service to the community during his tenure of office from 2002 to 2018.
Professor CHANG obtained his bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics at Chung Hsing University in Taiwan and his PhD in Aeronautics and Physics at Stanford University. As a passionate and dedicated researcher, Professor CHANG also worked as a researcher at Stanford University before starting his teaching career at Santa Clara University. His research areas include Laser Spectroscopy, Nuclear Fusion, Aerodynamics, Combustion, Membrane Chemistry and Cryptography. In 2002, Professor CHANG was invited to take up the role of Vice President (Academic Affairs) of the College and subsequently became the 9th President in 2003 until the end of June, 2018.
I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to Professor CHANG for his leadership, dedication and guidance for the past 15 years.
