Kong Mou Sum Library

Librarian (Ref: LIB/L/2115/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) ensure Library’s resources and services are able to meet learning, teaching and research needs;
(2) support collection development of printed and online resources;
(3) develop close partnership with publishers and resources providers and keep abreast of the latest trends in electronic resources including online books and journals;
(4) promote library’s services and resources via various channels and engage with the academic and student communities to evaluate users’ needs;
(5) advise and support faculties on dissemination and preservation of research output, enhance research impact, and use bibliographical citation management tools;
(6) implement College’s policies in acquiring books, journals, periodicals and e-materials;
(7) supervise paraprofessional staff in circulation, cataloging, classification and organization of learning resource materials to assure maximum accessibility and usefulness; and
(8) carry out such other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President (Academic).
Requirements: (1) A recognized university degree and professional qualification in librarianship (MLS or equivalent) with 5 years of post-qualification experience and supervisory responsibilities;
(2) Good planning and organizational skills;
(3) Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and collegially with colleagues;
(4) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Chinese; and
(5) Demonstrable professionalism with strong motivation, innovation, flexibility and commitment.

Library Assistant (Ref: LIB/LA/2107/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) Provide assistance in organizing e-learning activities and library workshops;
(2) Catalogue and handle end processing of library materials in various formats;
(3) Answer general enquiries and perform general office administrative tasks;
(4) Provide circulation / information services to library users;
(5) Assist users in the use of library services, resources and facilities;
(6) Perform counter and shift duties on regular basis, including evenings and weekends; and
(8) Carry out other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her delegates.
Requirements: (1) A recognised certificate or diploma in Library Studies
(2) Knowledge of RDA, AACR2R, MARC21, LCSH, LCCS and Dublin Core is preferred;
(3) Proficient computer knowledge in MS Office, English and Chinese word processing;
(4) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
(5) Good communication, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills; and
(6) Working experience in an academic library and knowledge related to cataloguing library materials are preferred.

Department of Civil Engineering

Laboratory Technical Officer (Ref: CIV/LTO/2102/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) Provide technical support to teaching, research and all departmental activities with the proper use of equipment, materials and facilities (e.g. equipment in civil engineering laboratory);
(2) Oversee the operation, repair and maintenance of all facilities in the laboratories;
(3) Handle purchasing, sourcing and tendering of supplies, materials, equipment and tools required for the laboratories; and
(4) Assist in ad hoc projects and perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements: (1) A diploma or above in Engineering or related disciplines;
(2) Practical/relevant experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment;
(3) College or University working experience is preferred;
(4) Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (fluent in Putonghua is preferred); and
(5) Be highly-motivated, enthusiastic, responsible and able to work independently as well as working in a diverse team environment.

Facilities Management Office

Facilities Manager (Full-time / Part-time)(Ref: FMO/MR/2117/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) oversee the daily operation of the Office and render necessary support for the sustainable development of the Office;
(2) supervise and coach subordinates with ongoing guidance and support;
(3) review and setup guidelines, procedures and processes of the Office;
(4) monitor service providers’ performance to ensure the College’s operational needs are addressed;
(5) manage and ensure an effective general office administration system, and
(6) handle any other duties as assigned by the Head of Office.
Requirements: (1) Degree holder in related disciplines;
(2) At least 10 years’ of post-qualification supervisory experience;
(3) Self-motivated and adaptive to change;
(4) excellent presentation and strong analytical skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues at all levels;
(5) Able to work under pressure and independently; and
(6) An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Student Recruitment Office

Student Recruitment Officer (Ref: SRO/O/2120/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) Represents the College to targeted constituencies;
(2) Develops, coordinates and delivers outreach programs and marketing strategies, including community workshops, retreats, and related recruitment efforts; arranges visits and tours for prospective students and parents;
(3) Serves independently as the point person for internal coordination of student recruitment;
(4) Provides career and academic counseling, planning, and advising to potential students;
(5) Participates in and/or organizes and implements all aspects of local and non-local student recruitment events;
(6) Prepares reports and proposals regarding recruitment and outreach activities, and responds to inquiries from students;
(7) Creates, packages, monitors and distributes resource materials for student recruitment; analyzes trends in recruitment;
(8) Guides and oversees the work of subordinates and/or student helpers when engaged in directly related support activities; and
(9) Perform any other duties as assigned by Vice President (Academic) or his/her delegates.
Requirements: (1) Degree holder or above;
(2) At least 6 years’ relevant experience;
(3) Self-motivated and adaptive to change;
(4) Able to work independently and efficiently under pressure; and
(5) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).

Information Technology Services Office

IT Helpdesk Support (Ref: ITSO/ITHS/2123/CHC)

Responsibilities: (1) Perform system administration and monitoring (such as MS Windows Server, O365, Linux);
(2) Provide day-to-day network management tasks;
(3) Provide computing and audio-visual support; and
(4) Perform any other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements: (1) Have a recognized Diploma or Degree with major in Computing/Information Technology/Computer Science or related disciplines;
(2) At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Helpdesk or IT Support;
(3) Proficiency in MS Windows Server, macOS and Linux administration;
(4) Have problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure;
(5) Confident in communicating with staff and students and understand their IT concerns;
(6) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and
(7) Fresh graduates are welcome.

Quality Office

Executive Officer (Ref: QO/EO/CHC/2131)

Responsibilities: (1) Perform secretarial duties to the Quality Office;
(2) Provide assistance on administration of Quality office and preparation of Quality Assurance document;
(3) Coordinate various supportive tasks related to the quality assurance of the College;
(4) Maintain proper records, such as proposals, reports, minutes, notes and papers or policies and procedures; and
(5) Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements: (1) A recognized degree with at least two years of solid administrative work experience, preferably in a tertiary institution;
(2) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and knowledge of Putonghua;
(3) Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
(4) Strong interpersonal, administrative and problem-solving skills;
(5) Possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision; and
(6) Attentive to details, highly self-motivated, responsible and be a team player.

(4) Assist in ad hoc projects and perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements: (1) A higher diploma or above in Engineering or related disciplines;
(2) At least 2 years’ practical/relevant experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of workshop machinery;
(3) College or University working experience is preferred;
(4) Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (fluent in Putonghua is preferred); and
(5) Be highly-motivated, enthusiastic, responsible and able to work independently as well as working in a diverse team environment.
