Chu Hai College Commencement Ceremony, 284 students start a new chapter in their life

Chu Hai College just held its 69th Commencement Ceremony in the College Hall today (Saturday, 26 October 2019). A total of 284 students graduated from the College this year, including 108 Master's degree graduates and 176 Bachelor's degree graduates.

When College President Professor LEE Chack Fan delivered his speech, he first reminded the graduates to be grateful to their professors and teachers at the College for their devoted teaching, and to always remember the support and encouragement they received from their parents and families. He pointed out that over the past seven decades, the College had cultivated many distinguished alumni with great accomplishments in various sectors such as industry, commerce, press, broadcast, academic, civil engineering and overseas Chinese communities. He encouraged the graduates by assuring them that they would also become the College’s distinguished alumni with prominent achievements. Professor LEE ended his speech by wishing the graduates a promising future and constant happiness.

At the ceremony, Vice-President (Academic) Professor Leslie George THAM authorised the graduation certificates given to the graduates. Professor LEE Chack Fan also presented the President’s List Award to students who excelled both in academic performance and character development. The Valedictorian this year was James Lui, a Bachelor's degree graduate of Chinese Literature.

This year, the ceremony welcomed more than 1,000 families and friends of the graduates. The College placed some giant photo frames at the venue. The graduates and their families and friends posed themselves within the giant photo frames for snapshots before and after the ceremony. The Commencement Ceremony concluded in a jovial atmosphere.
