CHCHE Announces its New Appointments & of Chancellor and Vice President

Chu Hai College of Higher Education announced on May 13,2015 the appointment of new Chancellor and Vice President. After contemplated considerations, the Board of Governors of Chu Hai College of Higher Education has appointed the following experienced scholars to form the managing team. Professor LEE Chack-Fan assumes the position of the Chancellor effective July 1, 2015. Professor CHANG Chung-Nan accepts contract extension as the College President and Professor YU Siu-Hung Eden is promoted to Vice President from the Dean of Faculty of Business effective May 1, 2015.

Dr. KONG Ho-Pak, the Chancellor of the past 30 some years, due to seniority and health reasons, will step down from the role of the Chancellor but retains the role of the Chairman of the Board of Governors.

Professor LEE Chack-Fan is an expert of geotechnical engineering and hydropower with years of experience in university affairs and administration. He was a Pro-Vice Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong. He is the Director of HKU SPACE (until June 30, 2015); Director of the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of The University of Hong Kong; an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Chu Hai College of Higher Education.

Professor YU Siu-Hung Eden has been the Dean of Faculty of Business of Chu Hai College of Higher Education since October 2012. He is also a member of the College Council. Previously, he was Associate Dean of College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong and Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Economics and Finance. He was Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Decision Sciences & Managerial Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong for some years.

At the dawn of having new campus available in Tuen Mun 2016, the Board of Governors is expecting the new leadership to further enhance the management, to steer the further expansion and to acquire university status in the immediate future.
