Architecture students awarded 2nd Runners-up and Merit in CIC BIM Competition 2019
Students of Architecture Department were awarded 2nd Runners-up and Merit in the Tertiary Student Category of CIC BIM Competition 2019. Organized by Construction Industry Council (CIC), the competition aimed to promote Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology through a collaborative and competitive learning approach. Architecture students collaborated with students of other building disciplines of other tertiary institutes, and prepared a design for redeveloping a campus into a "Digital Design & Construction Centre". Each team consisted of 3 to 5 members from more than one discipline, and the 9 shortlisted teams were required to modify the design within 12 hours in a design workshop in the final round.
M.Arch Year 2 students Rodney Li and Vincent Liu, together with students Helen Kwok, KS Au and CL Wong of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology obtained 2nd Runners-up, while the team composed of B.Sc (Hons) in Architecture students Timmy Chu, Benny Tin, Serena Lau, Yoyo Yong and The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education student Jeff Wong was awarded Merit in the competition. The achievement was a continuous process led by our teaching staff Architect Mr David Fung and Mr Alvin Kung. A big congratulation to the winning teams!
