Second Pan-Sub Tropical Climate Conference for Architectural
Design
Mr. Patrick Luk (HKIA), faculty member of the Research & Development
Unit and Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science & Engineering,
participated in the Second Pan-Sub Tropical Climate Conference for
Architectural Design from 3 to 5 Dec 2005 in Guangzhou in which
he presented a paper titled "Integration of Heliodons into
Architectural Design and Education - A New Light".
The conference were jointly organized by South China of Technology,
The University of Hong Kong, Tongji University and Cheng-Kung University
for exploration of the latest development of architecture in the
sub-tropical areas. Scholars and practitioners from Japan, Australia,
India, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong shared their experience and expertise
in the event for betterment of the sustainable built environment
in the areas. Mr Luk's participation and presentation in the conference
represents the determination of the College to encourage academic
and curricular development proactively.
