Civil Engineering Student Won Best Final Year Project Awarded by American Society of Civil Engineers Hong Kong Section

Mr. Leung Hing Tung, who graduated from the BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering Programme in 2008-09, is one of the awardees of the Best Final Year Project Awards offered by the American Society of Civil Engineers Hong Kong Section. His final year project entitled "Economic Impact Analysis of Seismic Design for Buildings in Hong Kong" was supervised by Dr. Tsang Hing Ho. In this project, an existing reinforced concrete building was re-designed according to the Chinese Code for Seismic Design of Buildings. The total construction cost was analyzed in detail and compared with the cost derived from using the relevant design code adopted in Hong Kong.
