Visiting Sheung Wan Flood Pumping Station Construction Site

As part of the site visit programme of the Department of Civil Engineering, the final year students and faculty members visited Sheung Wan Flood pumping station construction site on 15th November 2008. The project is a part of the solution of the flooding in the Sheung Wan region. The site visit provided an opportunity for students to understand the difficulties about the construction in urban region with restricted working area, drainage systems and public consultation. The engineer, Ir. Leung from Drainage Service Department of the Government of HKSAR held a briefing session and organized a guided tour in the construction site.
