Visiting Ma Wat Construction Site
As part of the site visit programme of the Department of Civil
Engineering, the final year students and our faculties visited the
construction site in Ma Wat on 22nd November 2008. This project
is part of the river training scheme as a solution of the flooding
problem of the New Territories in Hong Kong. The site visit provided
an opportunity for students to understand the difficulties of construction
in rural region, river training scheme and environmental mitigation
measures. The engineer, Ir. Lee from the Drainage Service Department
of the Government of HKSAR provided a briefing session and organized
a tour of the construction site.
