The Civil Engineering Exchange Camp for Youth 2006

In order to provide opportunities to understand more about the civil engineering development in Mainland China, the Civil Division of the HKIE together with the China Civil Engineering Society organized the Civil Engineering Exchange Camp for the Hong Kong young engineers from 25 December 2006 to 31 December 2006. The aims of this Exchange Camp were to show the significant achievements of civil engineering industry in Beijing and Tianjin to young civil engineers and students from Hong Kong; to share experience and discuss the differences between Mainland and Hong Kong in terms of project and cost management and technical issues, and to enhance the links between young civil engineers in Hong Kong and Mainland. Events also included technical visits to the construction sites of the main stadium of 2008 Beijing Olympic Game, major civil engineering projects, historical buildings and interflow activities with local companies and organizations, engineers and students in Mainland. Same as the previous years, the College was a sponsor to this event. A civil engineering student also jointed the exchange camp to Beijing.
