Our New Campus in Castle Peak Bay - Land Grant from the Government

June 2009

The College is pleased to announce that the Land Grant and Start-up Loan application to construct a purpose-built new campus has been endorsed and approved by the Education Bureau and the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Government in June 2009. We deeply appreciate and thank the Education Bureau and the Legislative Council's continuous support to the College's long term development.

The new campus will be located in the beautiful site of Tuen Mun East Castle Peak Bay, next to the beach in a serene environment where staff and students can fully enjoy their teaching and learning life. The size of the site is 1.6 hectare and the planned buildings will house many modern and state of the art equipment and facilities for teaching, learning and research activities.

The target capacity will be more than 4,000 students with facilities such as indoor sports centre, library, assembly hall, auditorium, lecture theatres, classrooms, architectural studios, civil engineering laboratories, science laboratories, computer laboratories, journalism and communication production and broadcasting studios, cafeteria, bookstores, etc.

The College will start its new campus development project immediately and the expected completion date is no later than 2012. The new campus, with its environmentally friendly and spacious construction features, will become a good example of modern architectural design.

The College continues to work towards the betterment of the teaching and learning environment for our staff and students and looks forward to another milestone in the future.
