Department of Architecture, Chu Hai College of Higher Education
Passionately we debate over and over the design,step by step we
walk the construction site, overnight in the studio we put together
the models, at the year end we exhibit our projects to the public...
460 days of architectural training has been long and challenging.
Our learning is everyday.
4X365: Chu Hai College has persisted on a 4-year Bachelor of Science
degree for architectural students- it is a unique and forward-looking
curriculum to offer a thorough foundation for continued professional
development of a future architect.
4X365+1: building upon our 4-year pre-professional degree with
over forty years of experience, the Hong Kong Council for Academic
Accreditation (HKCAA) has lately accredited our 5-year Bachelor
of Architecture programme - making Chu Hai College the third tertiary
institution in Hong Kong offering a professional terminal degree,
after the Master of Architecture courses offered at HKU and CUHK.
Architecture is a discipline interweaving knowledge fields of business,
science, art and humanities. To learn architecture one does not
only read, but to touch and experience different perspectives in
living. The 2007 Exhibition of Student Works put forward many positions
to sit and stand- the search for new angles is what we do in strive
of a better design of our city.
建 築 是 創 作 ， 也 是 生 活 。
4 x 365 + 1 ， 這 1460 天 記 錄 了 我 們 這 群 建 築 學 生 經 歷
過 的 挑 戰 和 奮 發 、 體 會 過 的 瘋 狂 和 愜 意 。 課 堂 中 無
數 次 傳 來 了 我 們 精 彩 的 討 論 ， 工 作 室 夜 燈 下 有 我 們
熬 夜 苦 作 的 身 影 。 展 場 上 體 現 了 我 們 努 力 突 破 的 成
果 ， 創 作 過 程 必 經 的 煎 熬 也 變 成 了 我 們 生 活 中 的 一
種 樂 趣 。
4 x 365 ， 是 珠 海 學 院 建 築 學 系 堅 持 多 年 的 四 年 學 制
， 在 香 港 大 專 的 建 築 學 院 本 科 生 課 程 中 是 獨 有 和 前
瞻 的 。
4 x 365 + 1 ， 在 這 四 年 制 的 基 礎 上 ， 我 們 新 開 辦 了 建
築 學 學 士 五 年 制 課 程 ， 繼 香 港 中 文 大 學 和 香 港 大 學
的 碩 士 班 後 ， 成 為 本 地 第 三 間 頒 授 政 府 認 可 建 築 專
業 學 位 的 高 等 院 校 。
建 築 學 是 一 門 綜 合 性 學 科 ， 涉 及 文 、 理 、 工 、 藝 諸
領 域 ， 學 建 築 不 單 是 求 學 問 ， 更 多 是 發 揮 個 性 專 長
， 了 解 和 充 實 生 活 。 2007 年 度 的 建 築 學 系 作 品 展 展
現 學 生 每 天 反 複 坐 立 ， 以 不 同 角 度 思 索 我 們 的 建 築
和 城 市 。
4 x 365 + 1 ， 也 就 見 證 了 我 們 從 青 澀 走 向 成 熟 的 歷 程
。
