Opening Ceremony at Shandong University

"The 5th Challenge Cup: University Students Business Plan Competition", held in October 2006 in Shandong University, was co-hosted by the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, Chinese Science and Technology Association and Ministry of Education and the National Students Federation, and co-organized by Shandong University and Jinan People's Government, aiming at promoting student's awareness and creativity in establishing a marketable and sustainable entrepreneurial business.

A team of five students from the Department of Business Administration and Department of Accounting and Banking of our College received an award of the third bronze prize among the group of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan universities. Our students' proposal was to establish a business center which aims at providing low costs but diversified and professional business consultancy services to the niche market of the SMEs in China.
The panel found the ideas very interesting and was particularly impressed by our students' creative brand-name of the business plan.

This comprehensive competition was very rewarding to our students as it contributed greatly to enhancing students' creativity, initiatives and their awareness of the cultural differences in establishing and managing entrepreneurial business in China, HK, Macau and Taiwan.
