Head of Department

Dr. PUN Kwok Leung, B.Sc.(Taiwan Univ.), M.Eng.(AIT), Ph.D. (Hong Kong UST)

Associate Professor

Dr. K L Pun received his BSc degree from the Taiwan University in 1986, MEng degree from the Asian Institute of Technology in 1991, and PhD degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1999. He is specialized in environmental hydraulics and has developed near-field and far-field mathematical models for hydrodynamic and water quality computations. His research interest includes numerical and physical modelling of advection and dispersion phenomena in the near-field and far-field, design of oceanic outfall, water pollution in rivers and coastal areas, and laser-induced fluorescence measurement technique. Dr. Pun also has many years practical experience in environmental consultancy work and has been involved extensively in developing hydrodynamic and water quality models for water quality impact assessment of the major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. The following gives a list of selected projects with Dr. Pun's involvement:

  • Hong Kong Section of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Connection with North Lantau Highway
  • Shenzhen Western Corridor Investigation and Planning (CE39/2001)
  • Shenzhen Western Corridor Design and Construction (CE51/2001)
