The accreditation exercise of the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons)
in Civil Engineering has been successfully conducted by the
Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA), which is fully
recognized by the Hong Kong Government.

of the Department |
The Department of Civil Engineering provides a comprehensive programme
that incorporates professional knowledge and skills as well as practical
training for students to pursue a career in various fields of the
civil engineering discipline. The programme covers a wide variety
of subjects including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering,
water resources engineering, building construction, project management,
transportation, materials in structures and construction, and engineering
mechanics. Students will be able to become the next generation of
civil engineers participating in the design and construction of
infrastructures such as bridges, highways, roads, water works, drainage
and all aspects related to the civil engineering works.
More than 55 Years of Experience in Offering Civil Engineering
Programme
The four-year degree programme in Civil Engineering is one of the
first programmes in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The
Programme has been offered for 55 years. Our experience in offering
civil engineering programme underscores our College's commitment
in providing quality education to secondary school leavers to fulfil
the needs in the field of civil engineering. The continuous economic
development in Hong Kong and the Greater China region needs professionals
with in-depth knowledge in civil engineering to contribute in infrastructure
construction. The employability and career development of our graduates
are optimistic.
In the past 55 years, more than 1,440 students graduated from the
Department reflecting the fruit of our success. Our graduates distribute
in every corner of the world and have been making their efforts
to contribute to the civil engineering industry as well as the prosperity
and development of Hong Kong.
