The Programme is designed with a four-fold structure with different
course requirements as follows:
Courses in the programme are grouped into major subject domains,
designed to provide students with different diversity of specialization
and give them systematic and progressive guidance to develop difference
career prospects and further enhance their academic achievements. Courses in Accounting and in Banking and Finance mainly help students to develop their professional knowledge for their future careers. The Accounting: Conceptual Framework and Application subject group provides students with a solid foundation of the conceptual framework in accounting while Accounting for Management and Control group focuses on the aspects of management, planning and control through the analysis of financial data. On the other hand, the Banking and Finance group provides students with specialized knowledge on the financial services sector. Law and Ethics mainly equip students with basic understanding of the current regulatory framework and professional ethics in the accounting and banking environment. Business Studies includes a foundation core as well as specialised knowledge in modern management skills. There is also a Final Year Project, which helps students consolidate and apply their knowledge in real situations, acquire research skills and develop their self-learning ability. All these courses serve as a solid platform for students to develop
their business skills, preparing them to pursue further postgraduate
education and research.
