Aims and Objectives
|
Aims
This programme develops students' fluency and accuracy in active and communicative
language use, as well as encouraging an appreciation of literature which
will further improve students' writing and reading skills. Their knowledge
of English language and literature will enhance their communicative skills
and help them to achieve their career and further educational goals in
fields such as education, translation, administration and media.
Objectives
The objectives of the programme are to
equip students with:
- Knowledge of the English language and works of literature which will
enhance effective communication skills and cultural awareness. In particular,
collaboration skills are emphasised to enable students to effectively
communicate with others
- Creative, critical and analytical ability, particularly in the fields
of literature and language use for effective communication
- Self-confidence to develop personal qualities such as self-management,
innovation and a positive attitude towards life and society, as well
as the desire to continuously enhance themselves through life-long education.
