Aims of the Programme
This programme provides a strong base of knowledge of computer science with which our students are equipped to achieve their career and further educational goals in various computer-related fields. Our students are expected to possess generic skills and specified skills for their all-round development including the enrichment of active life and social commitment.

Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of the programme are to provide an articulatory path for students to pursuit a relevant bachelor degree programme in computer science or IT related disciplines, and to prepare them to achieve their career objective in the para-professional level in areas of software development, Internet-based systems, technical and system administration, network engineers and programmers.
The students are expected to possess specialised skills including:

  • Numerical and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge in the core subjects of computer science
  • Programming languages
  • Data structure and algorithm implementation, database programming
  • Computer networks
  • System maintenance.

Other than these technical aspects, the graduates are expected to have the following generic skills including:

  • Effective communication and language skills. In particular, collaboration skills are emphasised to enable them to effectively communicate with others
  • All-round development of the students such as self-management, innovation, self-confidence, creative thinking and positive attitude towards life and society
  • Developing the sense of professional ethics and social commitment
  • Self-learning capabilities to continuously enhance themselves through life-long education.
