Aims

This programme provides students with advanced theoretical and practical computer science knowledge and skills, enabling them to develop sophisticated computer systems for the IT environment of the commercial and industrial sectors.

Our students should also possess a strong sense of social commitment, global vision and independent self-learning ability.

Our students are equipped with the ability to develop their personal and professional prospects, keeping in pace with the rapid progress of the technology in computer science.

The programme also prepares the students to pursue further postgraduate education and research.

Objectives

The objectives of the programme are to provide students with knowledge of major disciplines in Computer Science. In particular, students are equipped with:

Thorough knowledge of general fundamental science

Language proficiency, interpersonal communication skill, strong sense of social commitment and professional ethics, independent ability and organization of thought to solve and analyse abstract and complex problems

Ability to develop sophisticated computer systems based on a thorough knowledge of database design, software engineering, Internet systems, network and communication technologies and computer architectures.

Thorough knowledge of areas related to the advanced computer science technology such as E-commerce, computer and network security, data warehousing, data mining, multimedia systems, distributed systems and intelligent computing.

Programme Characteristics

The programme is well designed with a balanced curriculum by grouping subjects into broad learning areas that facilitate all-round development of students, especially in creativity, critical thinking, independent learning and inter-personal communication. We expect our graduates to have a broad spectrum of knowledge and balanced development in the domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics. In view of these, we provide wide coverage of liberal arts courses, such as general history of China, contemporary history of China, humanities, general psychology and international relations, for all students within the four-year duration of their studies.

Application Procedures

Applicants should bring in person the following documents to the General Office of the College:

a. A completed application form duly signed by applicant,
b. HKID card or a photocopy of HKID card,
c. School academic results and public examination results and their photocopies, and
d. 2 recent photos.
e. A non-refundable application fee $200.

All applicants are required to attend an interview. The date and time of the interview will be informed after the application submission.

For 2013-2014 Degree Programmes (4-years programmes)
Year 1 & Year 2: HK$ 59,000 per year (For 29,500) payable in two installments.
Year 3 & Year 4: HK$ 64,000 per year (For 32,000) payable in two installments.
