Department of Architecture Received Award "Award of Merit"
in the International Solar Building Competition, China

 

Mr. Patrick Luk (HKIA), faculty member of the Research & Development Unit and Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science & Engineering, was leading a research team comprised of professionals, academics and students from Chu Hai College of Higher Education (CHC) and University of Hong Kong (HKU) to investigate the challenge of contemporary solar architecture in China with 'cutting-edge' ideas and eventually proposed a design titled as "The New Courtyard House and Renewable Energies".

It was submitted to the Chinese Solar Architecture Design Competition held by The Chinese Solar Energy Society and The Chinese Institute of Architects. We are delighted to be awarded "Award of Merit" in the design competition with the professionals and institutes in China and overseas. Details could be found in the official website:

It represents the effort, determination and expertise of CHC to cultivate seamless collaboration with the professional as well as the educational sectors of architecture in Hong Kong in the areas of architectural research and advancement in a global scenario.
